Cherkizovo looks to expand supplies to Africa

Cherkizovo Group, Russia’s largest meat producer, took part in the business program of the Russia-Africa Summit. The Company held a number of meetings with African business representatives to discuss export prospects for meat products, including higher value-added ones, soybean oil and lecithin.

The Russia–Africa economic and humanitarian forum took place in St. Petersburg on July 27–28. Its guests were Russia's leading food producers and exporters, largest industry unions and associations, along with federal and regional executive officials. The forum also hosted an exhibition of products from over 30 domestic agricultural companies.

Cherkizovo Group, too, showcased its export-oriented chicken and turkey lines under Dajajti and Pava-Pava brands as well as Cherkizovo, Cherkizovo Premium and Imperiya Vkusa sausages. As part of the business program, our representatives participated in the panel called Identifying an Effective Strategy for Cooperation in Agribusiness, and met African businessmen and Russian agricultural attachés to discuss export prospects.

“We are supplying frozen chicken and turkey to some African countries such as Ghana, the Congo, Benin, and Equatorial Guinea. At the forum, we and our prospective African partners looked into the opportunities to further expand our export geography and product range. Cherkizovo would like to supply a variety of ready-to-cook higher value-added meats, including sausages, hot dogs, and nuggets, as well as our oil extraction products – soybean oil and lecithin,” said Natalia Bartnovskaya, Head of Export Development at Trading Company Cherkizovo.
