Moscow, Russia – July 12 – Mindful of its customers’ interests, Cherkizovo Group has been always looking for ways to make cooking more convenient. This summer, the Company started selling Petelinka chicken breast fillets in innovative vacuum packaging. It offers a longer shelf life and has compartments to allow using the product in parts, thus maintaining meat freshness and quality.

Cherkizovo’s Kursk-based facility started producing chicken breast fillets in the innovative vacuum packaging in late June. Petelinka’s 0.9 kg, 1.2 kg and 1.4 kg breast fillets have already been made available to Russian shoppers. These products are also offered online by Ozon, with other e-commerce platforms to follow suit.

The new packaging is manufactured in St Petersburg. Unlike a conventional tray with a film, it helps extend the shelf life to twelve days. “One of the reasons for using another type of packaging for breast fillets was to broaden our sales geography. And this is now possible thanks to the product’s increased shelf life,” said Victoria Baltais, Marketing Director for Fresh Products at Cherkizovo Trade House.

Consumers will likely most appreciate the fact that the new packaging is easy to use. Its compartments eliminate the need to open the entire package at once, which adds to the meat freshness period. “For today’s consumers, it is not only about the taste or quality, but also about the convenient ways to handle food. Petelinka’s new range meets the current trend for convenient solutions. It will be most popular with customers used to cooking in small portions or those looking to have one package for several meals,” commented Victoria Baltais.

Petelinka is the most recognizable poultry brand in Russia. Its products are free from E-number additives or preservatives, and sourced from chickens raised exclusively on in-house feeds. It is Russia’s best-selling chicken meat brand and the market leader in Moscow and St Petersburg.
