Cherkizovo Group, Russia’s largest meat producer, and UNITY charity foundation announce the launch of joint projects to promote the foundation’s initiatives and improve the quality of life across the country.
UNITY has been providing psychological support to cancer patients since 2017. The online school of life quality is one of the foundation’s key programs enabling oncology patients from various Russian regions to meet a psychologist, attend art therapy, meditative practices and special physical training regularly, dance, write books and learn foreign languages. All the programs are approved by oncologists and are free for patients.
Last year, Cherkizovo Group already supported the Sputnik art project for children with cancer. During the year, children in hospitals across Russia were drawing their dreams together with astronaut Sergey Kud-Sverchkov and psychologists. After that, the drawings were reproduced on metal plates and attached to a satellite. When the satellite was launched in October 2022, 20 young artists could see their dreams go to space.
«Such events help kids understand that even seemingly impossible things and dreams can come true. This gives them additional strength to cope with a devastating disease and believe that the best is yet to come,» says Sergey Kud-Sverchkov, ambassador and volunteer of UNITY Foundation, and astronaut from Roscosmos.
«It is a great honor for us to be a partner of the UNITY foundation in its noble mission to make life easier for sick children, to help bring their dreams closer through creativity,» commented Vsevolod Gribchenkov, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development at Cherkizovo Group.
Cherkizovo Group is determined to render financial and informational support to a whole range of the foundation’s projects and initiatives, as well as provide assistance through corporate volunteering programs. The foundation’s next project will be a trip to Yaroslavl, where the team will conduct art therapy for children undergoing treatment in local clinics.
