Cherkizovo Group, Russia’s largest meat producer, took part in the Exchange Yard agricultural and machinery exhibition for the first time. We offered our best products for tasting and shared our plans to grow business in the region.
The Exchange Yard exhibition held in Orenburg between September 6 and 8 is a key local agricultural event. It brought together over 130 companies from 18 Russian regions that showcased machinery, equipment and raw materials for animal breeding, crop farming and food industry along with processing, storage and packaging solutions for agricultural products.
Cherkizovo had its own stand displaying sausages under Cherkizovo and Cherkizovo Premium brands. The visitors could taste them and get the full information on the Company's product range.
As part of the business program, Alexey Kanishchev, head of core operations management at the Vishnevsky Genetics and Breeding Center (part of Cherkizovo Group), made a report at the plenary session called Sustainable Development of the Agro-industrial Complex: Present and Future. In his report, he stressed the role of the Vishnevsky Center in advancing the domestic artificial selection: the center can help meet the needs of Cherkizovo's own pig farms in Central Russia while also reducing the dependency of the country's entire pig industry on imported breeder pigs (genetic material).
After acquiring the Vishnevsky Center in December 2022, Cherkizovo Group invested close to RUB 500 million in reconstructing production sites in Orsk, implementing biosafety and HSE measures, as well as procuring agricultural machinery and motor vehicles. In 2024, we plan to spend more than RUB 500 million on expanding the center's capacities and increasing the breeding stock.
