Cherkizovo Group, Russia’s largest meat producer, became the partner of a cooking competition at the Russian National Cuisines festival hosted by the Orlyonok Russian Children’s Center. The event was held as part of the Healthy Eating project of Rospotrebnadzor (Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Protection and Welfare). Together with the blogger Valya Karnaval, our Brand Chef Eduard Denisov organized a workshop for kids on how to cook a healthy turkey burger.
The Russian National Cuisines educational festival took place at the Orlyonok Children’s Center as part of Rospotrebnadzor’s Healthy Eating project, with Cherkizovo as its partner. The event’s guests and jury members of the festival’s cooking competition were Yekaterina Golovkova, information supervisor of Sanprosvet and Healthy Eating projects at Rospotrebnadzor, Eduard Denisov, Cherkizovo’s Brand Chef, and Valya Karnaval, a blogger, actress, singer and TV presenter.
The Russian National Cuisines fest is organized at Orlyonok every shift, and this time, its theme was food traditions of the Stavropol Territory, where the Cossack cuisine is widely popular. Some three thousand children took part in the competition to showcase their cooking and serving talents.
At the festival, Eduard Denisov, Valya Karnaval and Yekaterina Golovkova staged a workshop on an easy way to cook a burger with turkey, salad and vegetables — a healthy alternative to the traditional fast food option. Cherkizovo supplied the workshop with turkey meat from its own farms located in the ecologically pristine area of the Tambov Region. This healthy product is high in protein, very low in fat, and easy to digest.
“I would like to express my thanks for giving me a chance to contribute to this important educational festival, become an honorary member of the competition jury, spend time with kids, and discuss healthy eating habits and diets. I am a big fan of awareness raising events and really like giving workshops to kids. For me, this is an opportunity to share cooking tips and help them take their first steps towards a healthy future. Kids are the most sincere and innocent audience you can get, and I hope that together with Valya and Yekaterina, we helped them discover the benefits and great tastes of healthy eating,” said Eduard Denisov.
