Cherkizovo Group, Russia’s largest meat producer, will complete the modernization of one of its oldest facilities, the Ozherelie feed mill in the south of the Moscow Region, by the end of summer 2023. As a result, its annual production capacity is going to increase from 300 kt to 500 kt of feed. Over RUB 1 bn will be invested in the expansion.
The project of the feed mill upgrade was launched in 2022 to increase its production capacity by installing additional pellet production lines. As part of the modernization, the Company also plans to fully automate the finished products warehouse. The project is expected to be completed in August 2023.
Cherkizovo Group, the mill owner, will invest more than RUB 1 bn in its upgrade. The facility’s annual production capacity is going to surge from 300 kt to 500 kt of feed following the modernization. All products of Ozherelie feed mill are supplied to Cherkizovo Group's poultry farms in the Moscow and Lipetsk regions, but once the expansion is completed, some of the feed will go to poultry farms in the Tula Region.
The Ozherelie feed mill located 100 km south of Moscow between the town of Kashira and the Ozherelie neighborhood is one of Cherkizovo Group's oldest facilities. Its construction started in 1968, with its first products manufactured in 1974. The mill became a part of Cherkizovo Group in 2011.
In its feed production, the Ozherelie feed mill uses only high-quality, eco-friendly raw materials such as soybean meal and soybean oil from Cherkizovo Group's own oil extraction plant launched last year in the Lipetsk Region, as well as enzyme admixtures and cereals. All raw materials are thoroughly tested by both the mill's own laboratory and Cherkizovo Lab. Thanks to a multi-level quality management system, feeds are as closely matched as possible to recipes approved by the Company's nutritionists.
