Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – 20 October – Cherkizovo Group, Russia’s largest meat producer, has presented branded halal products for the Middle Eastern stores at the 39th international agricultural exhibition – Saudi Agriculture 2022. First retail deliveries of chicken and turkey meat to Saudi Arabia are slated for the end of 2022.
Cherkizovo Group set up its own stand as part of the Made in Russia section at Saudi Agriculture 2022 taking place from 17 to 20 October in Riyadh. The Company’s stand exhibited halal products for retail customers in the Middle East. Previously, Cherkizovo Group only exported unbranded halal chicken meat to the region for B2B customers, namely meat processors and restaurants.
The stand’s halal offering featured Dajajti chicken meat (meaning “My chicken”) and Krasnobor turkey meat. Regular deliveries to Saudi Arabia are planned to start in December 2022. Going forward, the Group intends to tap the markets of the Persian Gulf’s other countries.
“The rising demand for halal products around the globe comes from a sharp increase in the Muslim population. For Cherkizovo Group, ramping up production and sales of our halal line has become one of this year’s strategic goals. We now have five halal-certified facilities, which enabled us to expand not only our supplies, but also our offering: in addition to chicken, our Middle Eastern Muslim consumers will also be able to enjoy our turkey,” says Anastasia Mikhailova, Head of Communications at Cherkizovo Group.
