Moscow, Russia – September 13 – Cherkizovo Group, Russia’s largest meat producer, presents its freshly-launched Vitaminiki mini hot dogs. Enriched with vitamins and minerals, the new product is easy to cook and is a perfect fit for all who care about their health and that of their loved ones.
Cherkizovo-branded Vitaminiki are produced by PIT-Product, our cutting-edge facility at Sinyavino, Leningrad Region. They stand out from regular hot dogs as they are enriched with a complex of vitamins (A, B, C and E) and minerals (calcium, iron). Such products enjoy increasing demand among Russian consumers who have become more mindful of their health due to the pandemic. According to experts, the country’s vitamins market saw consumer spending rise by 2.5 times in 2020 alone.
Apart from that, the new hot dogs are very easy to handle as they come in easy-to-open 8-packs and have no casing to be removed. Skinless hot dogs are a rather unconventional offering as opposed to those in removable or edible casing currently dominating the market.
“Our ultimate goal is to meet consumer needs. Customers look for products that are both delicious, easy to cook, and right for health-conscious eating, and our Vitaminiki hot dogs are just a perfect fit. They were recognized as the most delicious by most participants in the blind tasting, and also feature a variety of vitamins and minerals, which makes them a great choice for family meals,” says Irina Kim, Ready Meals Marketing Director at Trading Company Cherkizovo.
Hot dogs are the best-selling sausage product in Russia: according to NielsenIQ, they account for 30% of all sausage sales in volume terms (here and below, the data is for the period from September 2021 to August 2022). While the entire sausage market decreased by 0.04%, the hot dog category increased by 0.8%.
