Moscow, Russia – May 16 – Cherkizovo Group, Russia’s largest meat producer, has announced the acquisition of Sibylla Rus LLC, a shop-in-shop fast food business, from Finnish Atria. The deal covers equipment, recipes, and supply contracts for 4,400 fast food outlets in Russia and the CIS countries.
Limited Liability Company Agricultural Complex Mikhailovskiy, part of Cherkizovo Group, has secured a preliminary approval of Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service to acquire Atria’s Sibylla Rus LLC. The latter offers equipment and ready-to-cook solutions (hot dogs, burgers, tortillas, etc.) under the Sibylla brand to fast food establishments working in the shop-in-shop format. Sibylla Rus products are supplied to 4,400 outlets, with 3,800 in Russia and the remaining – in the CIS countries (Kazakhstan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan). The shops are primarily located at gas stations and recreation areas such as parks and stadiums.
The Sibylla Rus business includes supply contracts, equipment, recipes, and the logistics system. The Sibylla brand was not part of the deal.
Previously, Cherkizovo Group purchased Atria’s Pit-Product LLC in spring 2021. Based in the Leningrad Region, Pit-Product owns two meat processing plants and trademarks, including the Pit Product brand. Sibylla Rus LLC sources its meat products from Pit-Product’s plants, while sauces, bakery items, and vegetables come from local producers.
The acquisition of Sibylla Rus is in line with Cherkizovo’s strategy of strengthening its foothold in the foodservice segment, with the Group currently supplying its products to Russia’s largest fast food chains. In 2021, Sibylla Rus’ net sales exceeded RUB 3 billion, totalling over 10,000 tonnes in volume terms.
