Moscow, Russia – June 29 – Cherkizovo Group expects wide application of Russian-made biological products in its grain and meat segments. To facilitate that, the Cherkizovo has entered into a supply agreement for the Innagro project’s microbiological products, which for the past two years have been piloted at the Company’s sites.

“Biological products Cherkizovo uses in production are assessed based on their effectiveness in reducing pesticide contamination and plant disease while increasing yields. Cherkizovo cares about the future and adopts a sustainable approach in its agribusiness to preserve and increase soil fertility. That way we not only improve performance, but also leave a better world for our children. With that in mind, we partnered with Innopraktika on the application of experimental biological products for agricultural uses,” says Maxim Zudin, member of Cherkizovo Group’s Management Board.

Cherkizovo Group joined the Innagro bioproduct testing program in 2021. The first tests and trials were done at Cherkizovo Group’s rapeseed and soybean fields in the Lipetsk and Orel regions. The results were auspicious: the use of biological fungicide Metabacterin (produced in Russian labs) provided a 10% increase in yield while lowering the pesticide burden on the environment.

During the same year, Cherkizovo’s poultry farm in the Bryansk Region served as a platform to study the effectiveness of innovative probiotic Enzimsporin. The test group of broilers that received the biological additive gained weight faster throughout the rearing period.

The tests at Cherkizovo facilities are still ongoing in 2022. Soy and corn fields have already been treated with Metabacterin, and Enzimsporin tests are planned in Bryansk and Moscow regions.

Innagro is an Innopraktika-initiated program to test Russian-made bioproducts for agricultural applications in production.

Innopraktika is a non-governmental development institution with a mission to promote Russia’s national human capital by developing an innovation-driven economy.
