Russian meat processor Cherkizovo Group will launch the Zarechnaya poultry facility in the Penza Region this year having invested 1 billion rubles in its upgrade after a 14-year termination, Igor Babayev, chairman of the board of directors, said Tuesday.
“This enterprise will become our poultry flagman… In 3–4 months, we will place the birds. The volume of production will amount to around 30,000 tonnes of poultry annually,” Babayev said.
Cherkizovo is currently reconstructing 53 poultry houses for 1.7 million birds and a slaughtering plant, he said.
