Russia’s Cherkizovo Group, one of the country’s largest meat processors, has launched the second line of its meat processing plant in the Kaliningrad Region, the company said Monday.
The plant’s meat production capacity rose to 1,500 tonnes per month due to the launch of the second line, Cherkizovo said.
Cherkizovo acquired the plant named the Otechestvenniy product in 2010 and carried out an upgrade. It launched the first 300 tonne line in June 2011.
“Total investment in the project amounts to more than U.S. $15 million and today Otechestvenniy product is the flagship company of the group,” Cherkizovo said.
