Russian meat processor Cherkizovo Group has completed the acquisition of Dankovsky Meat Plant, located in the Lipetsk Region, for 38.5 million rubles, the group said Monday in a statement.
“The acquisition of the plant perfectly suits the group’s strategy on a long-term economic growth at the expense of organic development of the business and market consolidation,” the group’s General Director Sergei Mikhailov said, as cited in the statement.
Mikhailov said as well that the purchased plant will enable the group to increase work efficiency and maintain competitive advantages in the field of pork production under a complicated market situation.
The plant focuses on slaughtering cattle, freezing meat and producing sausages. The capacity of the slaughterhouse amounts to about 500 heads per shift, or 3.5 tonnes of meat daily.
