According to Cherkizovo's operating results for the 1st half of 2014, the LISKO Broiler poultry factory has produced more than 22,500 tonnes of poultry meat since becoming part of the agricultural holding. Cherkizovo’s poultry meat production totalled 205,800 tonnes in the first six months of this year according to the company's report for the first half of the year.
In an interview with a visiting DF correspondent yesterday, Dmitry Grishin, COO of LISKO Broiler, said that the holding that includes his company had moved to 1st place in Russia in poultry meat production, surpassing the former leader, the Belgorod company Prioskolye.
The company representatives explained that LISKO Broiler, which now produces 96,000 tonnes of chicken live weight per year, intends to reach a target of 100,000 tonnes in the near future without expanding its production capacities by using the company's internal reserves. In addition, the company intends to increase processing levels to 20 tonnes of broiler meat products per shift.
The influence of LISKO Broiler on Cherkizovo's production volumes in meat processing is still less than that in the chilled poultry meat division. The holding manufactured more than 64,000 tonnes of meat products in the 1st half of 2014, an increase of nearly 800 tonnes compared to the same period last year.
LISKO Broiler is expanding its regional presence. The poultry factory's products are already being sold on markets in other regions under the Kurinoe Tsarstvo brand name, which has had a positive effect on sales.
As a reminder, in March of this year, Cherkizovo Group bought LISKO Broiler, which produces 2% of the poultry meat in the country, for 5 billion roubles. Read about how LISKO Broiler is being developed according to the new owner's manufacturing strategy in the September issue of De Facto.
