Cherkizovo Group OJSC, one of Russia’s largest meat and processed meat producers, reports a 7% increase in sales in its poultry division to 342,640 tonnes of slaughter weight as of year-end 2013 compared to the previous year.
The average selling price in the poultry division in 2013 decreased by 2% to 78.62 USD per kilogram (net of VAT). The price rose by 1% to 78.05 USD per kilogram in Q4 of the last year compared to Q3.
Sales in the pork division increased by 52% to 157,570 tonnes of live weight. The price in the pork division fell by 14% in the preceding year to 65.68 roubles per kilogram.
The price rose by 1% to 71.32 roubles per kilogram in Q4 compared to Q3.
Sales in the meat processing division increased by 6% to 134,530 tonnes as of year-end 2013. The average selling price in the meat processing division remained almost unchanged at 148.78 roubles per kilogram during the year. The price rose by 7% to 156.32 roubles per kilogram in Q4 compared to Q3.
The company’s grain division harvested more than 175,000 tonnes of grain in 2013, or 51% more than in 2012. The division’s sales grew by 24% to 139,570 tonnes of agricultural products, with wheat, barley, and corn accounting for 80% of sales. The selling price as of year-end dropped by 27% to 6.01 roubles per kilogram, although it increased by 25% to 6.37 roubles per kilogram in Q4.
