Cherkizovo Group has invested 880 million rubles (around $29.5 million) into the first section of a major poultry production facility in the Bryansk Region, the group said in a press release.
The first section of the Roshcha Poultry Facility will consist of 26 fowl yards, which should be able to hold a combined 880,000 head of broiler poultry. The poultry for the facility will be provided from the group’s own incubator operations.
The second section of the facility, which will also consist of 26 fowl yards, will be launched in the spring of 2011.
The group’s Bryansk operations currently can produce 32,600 tonnes of poultry in live weight a year. Once the project is complete, output capacity here will increase to 85,000 tonnes per annum.
